DAY 1 - Arriving in Vancouver
Upon arrival into Vancouver, transfer on your own to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Some of the most popular local attractions include the Capilano Suspension Bridge & Tree Tops Adventure, Grouse Mountain, Vancouver Aquarium, Stanley Park, Granville Island and the Science Centre, not to mention many museums and the fantastic shops and restaurants on Robson Street.
DAY 2 and 3 - 'Rocky Mountaineer' to Kamloops and Banff
Your day begins with an early morning taxi transfer (included) to Vancouver's Pacific Central Station to board Rocky Mountaineer daylight train. Travel though the Pacific Coastal Mountains, Hell's Gate and onto Kamloops for the evening. (Breakfast and lunch onboard). Transfer (included) to your hotel in Kamloops for dinner (included) and an overnight stay. The next morning, transfer (included) back to the Kamloops train station where you will reboard Rocky Mountaineer and continue on your journey to the Canadian Rockies (breakfast and lunch onboard). Travel through the South Thompson River area, Kicking Horse Pass and Spiral Tunnels before arriving into Banff. Transfer (included) to your hotel upon arrival.
DAY 4 - Exploring Banff
In the morning your 'Discover Banff' excursion will take you through the town of Banff and its surroundings. Visit the majestic Hoodoos, see the views from Tunnel Mountain Drive and take a ride up Sulphur Mountain on the Banff Gondola (included). Enjoy a free afternoon in Banff.
DAY 5 - Discovering Lake Louise
Depart this morning on your tour that takes you past Vermilion Lakes to Johnston Canyon and on to Lake Louise (seasonal*) along the scenic 1A Highway.
DAY 6 - Lake Louise to Jasper Sightseeing
Your full day excursion takes you along the scenic Icefields Parkway, stopping at the Columbia Icefield. Enjoy an "Ice Explorer" ride (included) on the Athabasca Glacier. Continue on to Jasper for a two night stay.
DAY 7 - Exploring Jasper
This the morning you will see the beauty of Jasper and its surrounding rugged peaks via Brewster Luxury Motorcoach. Your three hour excursion includes Medicine and Maligne Lakes and Maligne Canyon.
DAY 8 and 9 - VIA Rail's 'Canadian' from Jasper to Toronto
Your morning is at leisure. This afternoon board VIA Rail's Silver & Blue class eastbound to Toronto. Meals onboard the train are included. Travel through the Central Plains of Canada to Winnipeg and then continue on to scenic Northern Ontario.
DAY 10 - Arriving in Toronto
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are once again included onboard the train. Arrive at Toronto's Union Station in the evening, transfer on your own to your selected hotel. Check in to your hotel located in cosmopolitan downtown Toronto.
DAY 11 - Exploring Toronto
On Day 11, tour vibrant Toronto in the morning. Highlights of this two hour tour include New and Old City Halls, Parliament Buildings, University of Toronto, Yorkville, Chinatown, Harbourfront and the Financial district.
DAY 12 - Visiting Niagara Falls
Today you'll join a full day excursion to famous Niagara Falls (including lunch, seasonal*) highlights this day. This tour also takes in the beautiful and historic region of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
DAY 13 - VIA Rail's 'VIA 1' from Toronto to Ottawa
Today, depart on VIA Rail's service bound for Ottawa, Canada's capital city. A meal will be included onboard the train. Transfer on your own to your hotel in Ottawa.
DAY 14 - Exploring Ottawa
This morning, tour the nation's "Capital" highlighted by Canada's Parliament Buildings, the Embassies, the Prime Minister's residence, Rideau Falls and Canal. A free afternoon is yours to explore the National Arts Centre, walk the parks, or visit Canada's Parliament (walking distance from hotel).
DAY 15 - VIA Rail's 'VIA 1' from Ottawa to Montreal
Transfer on your own back to the Ottawa train station. Depart for your journey to fabulous Montreal (includes a meal onboard). On arrival at Montreal's Central Station, you will transfer on your own to your selected hotel.
DAY 16 - Sightseeing in Montreal
Your discovery of Montreal, the world's second-largest French-speaking city, begins with a city tour including Old Montreal, Notre Dame Basilica, Olympic Park and Mount Royal Park for a view of Montreal Harbour and the St. Lawrence River. The remainder of the day is yours to explore cafes and boutiques, or the extensive "underground" including shops and restaurants.
DAY 17 - VIA Rail's 'VIA 1' from Montreal to Quebec City
After your free morning, continue your rail trip with VIA Rail to the charms of Quebec City. You'll enjoy a meal on the train and upon arrival, transfer on your own to your hotel.
DAY 18 - Discovering Quebec City
Today, start with a morning sightseeing tour of the only walled city in North America. Highlights of your two hour tour include the Latin Quarter, the Plains of Abraham, the Ramparts, world famous Chateau Frontenac, the National Assembly, the Basilica, City Hall, Place Royale, the Citadelle and a glimpse of modern Quebec City. Spend the afternoon exploring Quebec's many art shops, galleries, boutiques, pastry shops and excellent restaurants.
DAY 19 and 20 - VIA Rail's 'Ocean' from Quebec City to Halifax
Your day is at leisure, before your evening rail journey to Halifax. VIA Rail's 'Ocean' is the finest way to appreciate the splendid scenery of Canada's Maritime provinces. After a dreamy sleep, this morning enjoy a continental breakfast before arriving in Halifax. Feel free to explore the train and discover how train travel has come of age in Atlantic Canada. A late afternoon arrival and transfer on your own to your hotel begins your stay in Atlantic Canada.
DAY 21- Departing Halifax
Check out of your Halifax hotel to conclude your Coast to Coast vacation.
Additional hotel nights can be arranged in Vancouver and Halifax to extend your stay.
