ITINERARY:
DAY 1 - Arriving in Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver and transfer to your hotel (not included). The day is yours to discover Vancouver. Canada's third-largest metropolitan centre, Vancouver is a busy port with a multi-cultural ambiance. The spectacular setting invites you outdoors; explore the restaurants, shopping, galleries and museums, nightlife, entertainment and more. Be sure to check out the world-famous Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver if you have time.
DAY 2 - Sightseeing Victoria
Today, enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour of Victoria beginning with a ninety-minute ferry ride on board B.C. Ferries (included) through the Gulf Islands to Vancouver Island. Upon leaving the ferry, the motorcoach will take you to Butchart Gardens (included) and then on a city sightseeing excursion. You will have some leisure time in Victoria to explore on your own. Late this afternoon, transfer back to Vancouver via B.C. Ferries.
DAY 3 - Exploring Vancouver
Explore Vancouver on a guided city tour this morning. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
DAY 4 and 5 - 'Rocky Mountaineer' to Kamloops and Banff
Your day begins with an early morning taxi transfer (included) to Vancouver's Pacific Central Station to board Rocky Mountaineer daylight train. Travel though the Pacific Coastal Mountains, Hell's Gate and onto Kamloops for the evening. (Breakfast and lunch onboard). Transfer (included) to your hotel in Kamloops for dinner (included) and an overnight stay. The next morning, transfer (included) back to the Kamloops train station where you will reboard Rocky Mountaineer and continue on your journey to the Canadian Rockies (breakfast and lunch onboard). Travel through the South Thompson River area, Kicking Horse Pass and Spiral Tunnels before arriving into Banff. Transfer (included) to your hotel upon arrival.
DAY 6 - Discovering Banff and the Columbia Icefield
This morning, a Brewster motorcoach and driver will guide you up the Icefields Parkway with a stop at the Columbia Icefield Interpretive Centre. Take time to explore the surface of Athabasca Glacier on board a specially-designed Ice Explorer (included). Return to Banff after your glacier tour.
DAY 7 - Banff to Calgary Sightseeing
Learn about the geology, native history and wildlife while exploring Banff and its surroundings. Start your morning with a short tour visiting such points as Bow Falls, and Surprise Corner. Then it is a stop at the Banff Gondola to ride up into the mountain tops for spectacular views from a one kilometer boardwalk or 360 degree observation deck. A short drive through the town of Banff and the tour travels east down Highway #1. The next stop will be at Stoney Nakoda Resort where there will be time to visit the Native Heritage artifacts exhibit. Lunch will be at leisure. Time will be set aside to participate in an optional Heli-Tour over the Kananaskis Valley or an optional Dreamcatcher excursion in a Terra-Bus to a First Nations Village and through the near by Buffalo Paddock. Your final destination will be downtown Calgary or the Calgary International Airport.
