The most Canadian of seasons - Winter - is the 'perfect' time to visit Canada's West. Like a downy quilt, the magic, tranquility and stunning beauty of our winter will surround you. Traveling by both train and luxury motorcoach, you will have many opportunities to explore the beautiful alpine towns of Jasper, Banff and Lake Louise.

VACATION FEATURES: 6 nights hotel accommodation, 1 night onboard VIA Rail's 'Silver & Blue' service (two meals onboard), Maligne Valley Watchable Wildlife Tour in Jasper, transfer over Icefields Parkway, transfer Lake Louise to Banff, Banff Gondola Admission (seasonal*), Upper Hot Springs admission, Banff "Dine Around" dinner, admission to the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, scheduled transfer service between Banff and Calgary, documentation, hotel porterage and National Park fees.
DAY 1 - VIA Rail's 'The Canadian' from Vancouver to Jasper
Board VIA Rail's Canadian for your overnight journey to Jasper (dinner onboard). Luggage storage in the passenger cars is limited, so we suggest that you pack an overnight bag for the train portion of your vacation and check the rest of your luggage into the baggage car.
DAY 2 - Arriving in Jasper
You will travel through the Monashee and Caribou mountain ranges before ending your train journey in the resort town of Jasper. A full breakfast is included onboard. Upon arrival in Jasper, you will be transferred directly to your hotel.
DAY 3 - Sightseeing in Jasper
Come and enjoy the beauty of the striking Maligne Valley. The tour includes a short walk around the top of Maligne Canyon, then a scenic drive up the valley past the mysterious disappearing Medicine Lake to Maligne Lake. The wildlife can include moose, caribou, bull elk, big horn sheep, wolves, coyotes and more.
DAY 4 - Jasper to Lake Louise
Travel in a van along the Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic highways in the Canadian Rockies, arriving at Lake Louise, the "Jewel of the Rockies".
DAY 5 - Exploring Banff
Departing Lake Louise this morning, you will travel by scheduled service to Banff. Upon arrival in Banff, you will be dropped off at your selected hotel. Included today is admission to the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies.
DAY 6 - Sightseeing in Banff
Explore Banff on your own today, including admission to the Banff Gondola that will bring you to the summit of Sulphur Mountain, and the Upper Hot Springs. This evening, a "Dine Around" downtown Banff takes you to the Banff Wine Store for a sample and bottle to take with you, Tony Roma's for appetizer & entree and the Maple Leaf Grill for dessert
DAY 7 - Banff to Calgary
After a free morning, transfer on a scheduled service from Banff to Calgary for the last night of your trip. The remainder of your day is free to explore the attractions of downtown Calgary
DAY 8 - Departing Calgary
Check out of your hotel in the morning and transfer on your own to the Calgary International Airport for your flight home.
*When day tours or attractions are not operational in the off-season, the price will be adjusted or there will an alternative excursion/attraction made available.
*This vacation is available in reverse from Calgary.
