BBC's World Affairs Editor John Simpson CBE will join the Trans-Siberian Winter Wonderland rail journeys in February 2010 as Guest Speaker. In a BBC career spanning more than 30 years, John has earned a reputation as one of the world's most experienced and authoritative journalists. He has reported from more than 100 countries across the globe, from 30 war zones, and has interviewed numerous world leaders. John will travel eastbound from Irkutsk to Vladivostok and westbound from Vladivostok to either Krasnoyarsk or Novosibirsk (to be confirmed). |

Her Royal Highness Princess Michael of Kent will join GW Travel’s Crimean Express in 2010 as a guest speaker. The Princess is a successful author and has written a number of books on European historical subjects and has been lecturing internationally since 1986 (see www. princessmichael.com for details). Her Royal Highness will join our northbound and southbound tours in the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine, and on board the Golden Eagle she will deliver exclusively to our passengers an insightful and engaging lecture on the life of Catherine the Great and her role in the history of the Crimea. Following the lectures, HRH Princess Michael will travel northbound on the train for a number of days. |
Farokh Engineer will join GW Travel as Guest Speaker for the Darjeeling Mail 18 Sept 2009 departure. Farokh Engineer is a former Indian cricketer who played 46 Tests for India between 1961 and 1975 and played first-class cricket for Bombay and Lancashire in England. He is currently a match referee in the Indian Premier League. Farokh is also an accomplished Bridge player and will arrange a Bridge tournament on the train. |
