A BREWSTER TOUR

Hi Ted and Sylvia.
I wanted to drop you a line and report on our trip. The
Brewster folks did a great job and things went off without a hitch for the
most part. The Fairmount in Vancouver was wonderful- we especially enjoyed
the two lab watchdogs that stayed at the concierge during the day. The
weather was extremely hot, unusual for Vancouver, but not for our location
in Maryland.
We didn't get the room that Brewster had identified on the
itinerary in the Park observation car, but a room in an adjoining car for
our overnight to Jasper. The train handling on this part of the trip was
very poor- in fact one woman was actually pitched out of her berth!
The crew
was wonderful and very helpful and informative. Our stay in Jasper was
great, again except for the hot weather and the lodge that we had wasn't air
conditioned. The trip to the Columbia Icefield was great- there were only
four of us on it and Mary Ann, the Brewster guide, was very informative and
fun.
The train to Toronto was two hours late into Jasper but we met lots of
great people in the station (and on the train too). The trip to Toronto was
generally good- the crew we had to Winnipeg was great, but the new crew to
Toronto was fairly young and inexperienced and the dining car steward was
particularly angry about something for the whole trip! The room at the Royal
York was great and all the vouchers for transfers and rooms were in good
order.
All in all a good trip and lots of fun.
